During Tardive Dyskinesia (TD) Awareness Week, which takes place during the first week of May, Neurocrine Biosciences, a new member of NJAMHAA's Life Sciences and Innovation Council, is providing a toolkit that can be used throughout TD Awareness Week to help build awareness.
Tardive Dyskinesia, or TD, is an involuntary movement disorder that is characterized by uncontrolled movements of the face, torso, limbs, fingers and toes and is usually associated with antipsychotic medication use.
TD is currently affecting an estimated 800,000 adults in the U.S. and approximately 60% remain undiagnosed
Neurocrine Biosciences aims to reduce stigma and support those affected by the condition and is committed to bringing awareness to TD throughout the year through clinical studies and other forms of research.
